High school football week 2

Posted in Sports on August 31st, 2009 by Chad Greene – Be the first to comment

So I have decided that I am going to upload a photo from each high school game I shoot this season. This week’s photo is of a player diving for a touchdown on the first drive of the game. I always love it when you get the shot you need right away. Unfortunately the play was called back and the team had to settle for a field goal making the photo less print worthy because it turned into a non-play. I still like the shot, this is one of my favorite spots to shoot from on the field, when a play like this happens it always makes a nice photo.

Memorial

Last friday during a football game (not the one I was at) a football player for the visiting school died. He had cardiac arrest on the field and died at the hospital later, it’s a shame. The following day I was called to go to a memorial that local high school students put together for the fallen player. I wondered around the background and made some nice photos. I really liked that fact that a rainbow came out as people were milling around at the end (and it hadn’t even rained).

Rubber duck race

So last weekend I went to the annual Great Knoxville Rubber Duck Race. It’s not that these photos are anything really special but I still like them. The race was a fund raiser for the Boys and Girls Club. Dumping 45,000 rubber ducks into the river and watching them float a mile down was just plain fun!

Football time again

It’s football time again…at least for high school already. I shoot a lot of sports, not as much as I used to but still a lot of sports. In Texas there were weeks when I would shoot football four days a week. I really enjoy shoot almost all sports (all but one, but I’ll save that for another time) and football is almost always fun to work. So high school started last week and I ended up liking this shot from the game, it’s got nice movement and action. You can feel he is trying to get as many yards as possible.

Lauren and Brian’s wedding

Posted in Weddings on August 24th, 2009 by Chad Greene – Be the first to comment

Two weeks ago I was in Saint Louis doing a few photos. One of the things I shot that weekend was the wedding of Lauren and Brian. they are a great couple and it turned into a real party. As a side note, I worked the wedding with an amazing photographer and friend, Rodney Green. Rodney is traditionally a commercial photographer based in Omaha, Nebraska and we have been talking about working together for a while now. Our style compliment well since I shoot documentary style and Rodney is more traditional. We are talking about doing more work together in the future and I hope that works out and will let you know when we have some more details. I am still editing the photos from the wedding but as soon as I have some ready I will post a couple here. Congratulations to Lauren and Brian!
