Warehouse

Recently I was out at a warehouse for cleaning products to work a feature about their new energy efficient solutions to everyday business. The last picture reminds me of the Indiana Jones move when they take the ark away for storage.

Peyton Manning portraits

Last week I was hired by the University of Tennessee to make portraits of NFL quarterback Peyton Manning. The school had named a classroom after Manning, who is an alum, and needed photos of him in classroom and some nice portraits of him in general. I had everything set up in advance, although he is a lot taller than my stand in model. Not wanting to hold him up or waste his time, when he arrived I was able to make five portraits in seven minutes. These are two of my favorite from the day.

Scrap yard

Last weekend I went over to Gerdau scrap yard to make photos of local metal artists picking though to find material for new projects as part of the Dogwood Arts Festival.

Coach Summitt

Yesterday Tennessee Lady Vols basketball coach Pat Summitt announced she was stepping down. It was a sad day in Tennessee for sure, Coach Summitt is one of the classiest people I have ever met. She won 1098 games and eight NCAA national titles but the stat that I have always found to be the most amazing is that in 38 years her players have had a 100% graduation rate. In a time when scandals are a daily news story in sports, coach Summitt stood as an example of what is good about sports, pure class…

Titanic

Last weekend was the 100th anniversary of the Titanic sinking. I went out the the Titanic Museum and Attraction in Pigeon Forge to make photos. They had their memorial tribute outside in the parking lot but it was a nice night. Here are a couple of photos from the night. Ph yeah, I also went the extra mile (literally) for this assignment. Traffic was backed up and it took me more than an hour to drive half a mile. So I parked and walked the last mile to make it to the event in time, good thing my camera bag has rollers on it.
